  Again I never said that they will lose. I never said that they should give up. I said that people on here think that it will be a slam dunk or now will just be easy wins here on out. I said that they have a tough hill to climb but obviously they think that they have a shot at wining. I know that I didn't say, yay now watchtower is going down in a firey crash like everyone else is saying, so therefore everyone assumes that I think these firms will lose. It is reality that they have a hill to climb and it will be interesting to see how they fair.

  I never said that you should congratulate them in any way. Just presenting an actual fact. Apparently, Watchtower has had the documents ready since November 2, 2016, but the plaintiff did not stipulate to the non-disclosure agreement as outlined by the first judge, Judge Lewis and the Court of Appeals. So the documents were not turned over till the current judge could rule on a protective order.

  BTW I am just reading that Watchtower is complying with the court order in San Diego to turn over the documents that Lopez has requested in the deposition portion of that case. They have requested a protective order for redaction of certain data and for it to be sealed but they are complying with the order.

  I am trying to say is that when you look at all of the data you find some interesting points. Do I personally feel that they should be sued for all of these? I don't. I know that some people will disagree with me and feel that there is talk about 150000 Austrian dollars per person should be paid out by the organization. I don't think that is right for all of those cases because many of them had nothing to do with Watchtower other than the fact that the perpetrator happened to be a JW. The victim was picked exclusively because they were part of the congregation and nothing could have been done to prevent that crime. Are there instances where an additional victim didn't have to be abused if Watchtower did the morally right thing, that is a different question. But even beyond Australia, people will use those number to extrapolate that there are x number of abusers in each congregation around the world, but if you are going to do that you have to look at the numbers behind that total number. My point is that it is not an easy thing to say that Watchtower should have done X or Y in order to prevent all child abuse.

  It will be interesting to see if the legislature actually takes this up. It is great that the Governor wants to do it, but it is another thing to get enough legislative members to take it up and actually pass the legislation.

  Certainly, these firms think that they can win. No lawyer will take a contingency case on if they don't think that they will win. But it is going to a long hard battle. People have to be ready for that. Even the Lopez case started in 2012 that is 5 years now and it is going it hasn't even gone to trial yet.

  What will be sad though is if they use some of their weaker cases and use that to build up their stronger ones. By putting their clients through the emotional toll and getting their hopes up, even though they don't have a lot of faith that a win could occur. Some firms do that especially if they think that a bigger payday is waiting for them in future, stronger cases. Not saying that they will do it, but if they do it will be very sad for those clients.

  People on here have stated that it is going to be the lawsuit equivalent of paint by numbers, where it is going to be so easy that anyone can do it. Others have indicated that it is just going to be a slam dunk because these firms are now on it. People are getting their hopes up that this is the silver bullet to win everything. My only contention is that this is going to be extremely hard even if they win, it is not a slam dunk for future cases. People have to realize that.
